This test is having less cost than blood test. This test is further divided into two skin tests. Both of these tests are for skin allergy test but your doctor will recommend you which one is better and suitable for you.
- Allergy skin prick test:
This test is must performed in allergists’ office. Doctor will prick your skin surface and deposit a tinier amount of allergens to test. Doctor may test at the same time with several allergens and also skin be pricked with a control solution which may not cause any affect. Doctor will give numbers to each allergen to identify clearly. It will take about 15-20 minutes to test this allergy. In the results the skin prick site may get swollen and it will confirm the allergy of that substance which deposited there.
- Intradermal skin testing:
This test can also be only observed in doctor’s office as to see the reactions. They will inject the allergens under the skin of the forearm and arm. Red spots and itchy bumps will appear with a positive reaction.
This test is more sensitive than the first one as it can react the skin directly and show skin reactions and creates skin allergy as if there is no allergy. This test also tested quickly and gives more positive false than the skin prick test.
2- Blood test:
Skin tests may not carry out to examine the allergies as the age factors and children are also fear of skin damage. So this test can’t be applied for many of the people who don’t willing for this there is also second option which is blood test. Blood test is the most easy and common way to test anything. In this test you are not need to go doctor’s office it can also be tested in laboratory. You will just give the blood sample to them they will send that for allergy test examine. It may take longer time to get results but it has no risk of getting allergy. The blood will be examined for antibodies to common allergens.
